BRIEF:
We were tasked to redesign and deliver a responsive, international standard and build a portal for agencies and South African’s who want to use the “Proudly South African” marketing material.
APPROACH:
We followed the UX design principle : Less clutter, less clicks and more. So, we audited the entire site and their content to see how best we can layout their website. We had engagements with their IT department as well as agencies who worked on the brand on what is important for them. We carried a series of interviews in order to assess the common issues and identify a ground of commonality in the vision of the new site. We audited their hosting environment and found that they were using old servers to access a site that gets accessed by over 500k users every month.
SITEMAP PLAN:
We then sat with the marketing team, branding team and IT team to develop a site navigation plan as well as a project plan that stipulated the steps we needed to achieve. The plan was approved and then we began with wireframes.
WIREFRAMES:
We then developed the wireframes, page by page to propose layouts, which we took client through and went through a rigorous process.
HIGH FIDELITY:
Once the wireframes, we then began high fidelity wireframes to introduce CI so client can see the how the layouts are translating to the vision.
LOOK AND FEEL:
Once the wireframes were approved, we then introduce look and feel, which we brought in pictures, icons and videos which was now beginning to become a fully designed website.
The client was mesmerised and happy about the process that was carried out as they were involved in every part of the process.
IMPROVEMENTS AND INSIGHTS REPORT:
The site had an increase page load speed to 2,5 seconds from 11,8 seconds.
Site SEO score increased from B- to A- which was significant growth from a search engine perspective.
Website engagements increased by 3% over the month of launch and bounce rate came down to 53% which was the biggest improvement.
